Mixed fabric scarf [Wenatchee photography + design]

So, I've been seeing "Infinity scarves" all over Pinterest and they reminded me of my "6 minute fleece cowl" from back in November (5 mediums, 6 ways = 30 projects.) The only difference being, they were longer because they were made from several fabrics joined together first to make mixed panels. "Hey," I thought, "I have several fabrics," and "I always need more scarves!" I grabbed 5 fat-quarters and what looked like a former pair of pajama bottoms (which I trimmed to fat-quarter size.) Joined them first along their short ends in groups of 3 fabrics each. Then followed the rest of the steps here. Then had little #3 try and take flattering photos of me in the scarf. Which is where the project really went down hill...anyway...

I love the mix of fabrics and the variety you get with bringing the different fabrics forward. Now I want to make one with really sheer, bright fabrics for Spring.

...until next time, tkd

5 mediums, 6 ways = 30 projects in November [Wenatchee photography + design]

Project 18 (photo): I had a family photo session on Sunday. While I may not normally count this as a "Project" I am this time, because, well, I got injured, and didn't have time to do anything else. THat's also why I'm a day late posting. Yours truly took a full-on fall to her knees, then shoulder, then ending in an embarrassing turtle-on-its-back pose on the wet, dirty gravel. I was also carrying all my gear (camera, monopod, bag of lenses) and had the instinct to cradle my camera and keep it from breaking. My knees that night were the size of cut-in-half softballs and were bloodied and hurting. The swelling has gone down some, but they still aren't as bendy as they should be. I was thankful that I've known this family for years so it wasn't QUITE as embarrassing as it could have been if I'd just been meeting them. Anyway, totally worth it as I got to spend time with them and got some really nice family portraits of a really beautiful family. Win-win!

Project 16 (fabric): I had some extra fleece left from the cowl, so decided, after holding my ice cold steering wheel yesterday ('tis the season) that I could use some car mittens. Mittens that just stayed on the dash for when it was cold. They aren't fancy, don't need to keep them in my purse, but have access to them when it's really cold and I have to head right out. Which is most of the time because I FLY out the door 5 minutes before I'm supposed to be at work, throw it into D and GO. Not a lot of "warm the car up first time". I'm hoping Santa brings me a remote starter for my car this year ;) These were super simple, I just set my hand down on the fleece, traced around it generously, cut out 4 of them (it was double-sided fleece so I didn't need to worry about getting the inside/outsides right), hemmed up the bottoms to the inside, then sewed them together. Like the 6-minute cowl, these were probably 6-minute mittens.
