Apple Blossom festival time [Wenatchee photography + design]

So much new stuff! Been a busy little bee which is just how I like it.

Apple Blossom week this week (the parade was today, but we didn't go this year). Spent yesterday in the park checking out all the arts and crafts booths. So much beautiful stuff by so many talented people. Love to take all the time I want and really check out each booth. Super windy this year, but still fun.

Summer love [Wenatchee photography + design]

Love how this came out. A photo I took of a cool, old VW van in cheery, and cherry, red just looked like it belonged at the beach. Some oil paint, a bit of distressing to give it that worn look I love, a few words about how it makes me feel = instant summer art love. Going to order this as a Giclee print on cotton rag and it is going to sing! Sing a song of summer that is, for which I am eagerly waiting! If anyone is interested in prints, let me know. I think this one is so fun!

What makes you feel like summer?

Glee for Spring [Wenatchee photography + design]

Glee is on tonight! I'm not much for TV, but Glee is really good. Like, not just hype, those "kids" are talented!

And, crossing my fingers, it looks like Spring is here for real! I know the winter was mild, so you'll hear no complaints from me, but the annual crop of tulips, that I never planted, are gorgeous and it always makes me look so forward to summer.

New designs [Wenatchee photography + design]

Been having a blast with my "downtime," (portrait-ly speaking), (hey, new word, 'portrait-ly'), spending time with crisp sheets of white paper and a set of happy, colorful markers. I've noticed that when I'm drawing, I can totally zone out, be in my own world and, boy, can I lose track of time. Now that Spring is upon us, and, hopefully, the weather is starting to warm up, my portrait schedule will start filling up. Keep in mind that it's better to schedule your session, and maybe have to move it, than to wait until too late to schedule and miss the opportunity all together.

A few of my latest designs, below.

Urban Outfitters and Leavenworth [Wenatchee photography + design]

One of the art groups I belong to is Society6, which is an international artist community representing more than 70 countries worldwide. They collaborate with some very cool companies to bring art to people. One of those companies is Urban Outfitters and I was thrilled to hear they wanted one of my pieces to carry in their Urban Outfitters/Society6 collaboration shop. They offer different sizes of a gallery quality Giclée print on natural white, matte, ultra smooth, 100% cotton rag, acid and lignin free archival paper using Epson K3 archival inks. They are custom trimmed with 2" border and are very nice, top-of-the-line prints. What I think is fun is they also carry it as laptop and iPhone/iTouch skins. Skins are thin, easy-to-remove, vinyl decals for customizing your laptop. Anywho...I just thought it was awesome they choose one of my designs, especially when there are so many wildly talented artists on Society6 to choose from. Made my day, to say the least.

Unrelated to that, but still makes me happy: The Impact directory purchased one of my photos to be the cover of next year's Leavenworth, WA phone directory. If you've never been to Leavenworth, I highly suggest you rectify that! It is settled at the base of the Cascade mountains, is picturesque, to put it mildly, and is a "theme" town, where the entire town is done up in a "Bavarian Getaway" style, and it is so much fun to visit. Amazing views, food, very fun shops and always something going on each weekend, from May Fest, summer arts and crafts exhibits, Oktoberfest (huge here!) to Christmas tree lighting...always something. We're lucky to live only 1/2 hour away and I'd say we're there every other month or so. Just a great place to visit for a weekend.
